bio

As the son of a naturalist, David Watson has had a lifelong love of nature.  Born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, he lived in northwestern Ontario and all of Canada's western provinces before moving to Terrace, British Columbia in September 2001.  He was immediately awestruck with the rugged, stunning beauty of the northwest; his passion for photography flourished.  He was so impressed with the area and its inhabitants that he soon decided to stay here and call Terrace "home" despite being offered employment in his hometown and elsewhere.

Some of his photographs have won competitions in the region and many have been displayed at various locations in Terrace, also in other communities in the northwest and lower mainland.  Although he has always taken photographs for his own enjoyment, viewers' comments such as "you have a ‘whimsical' eye," and "it's like you try to become one with the subject" have been very inspirational as David continues to strive for excellence in his work. It is his ultimate aim and sincere hope that his images inspire the public to get out into nature - to "have a closer look at the world around us" - and participate in conserving it!!

His love of nature and landscape is incorporated into his photographs and he invites the viewer to share the joy he had in capturing them either on film or digitally.  If you wish to view more of David's works, simply visit the site regularly as he has numerous images to add to it and will be making the additions as quickly as time permits.  If you have some comments to make or desire further information about the images, you may reach him by clicking on the "contact" button to the left.  He will respond quickly to any emails requiring information, unless he is out of town or "spending time with nature," in which case he will reply as soon as possible after he returns.
